Scott Turns...

We love squeezing Scott's birthday into the busyness of early September!  ;-) We had a nice time out to breakfast as a family (minus Katie) on his day and then were able to celebrate later with some friends in Visalia with a fun dinner out.  Here are some recent pictures that sum up things and people that Scott loves.  Thankful for his energy, enthusiasm, heart for people and ministry, dedication to our marriage and family through all the craziness life brings.  Happy Birthday, Scott!  Love you!

Pats Player of the Year

Troy had the honor of being chosen by his teammates and coach as player of the year for his soccer team.  He was presented this trophy by his coach at a gathering of all the teams in our club for the opening ceremonies for the new season.  Great job, Troy!

Katie Update

Katie continues to enjoy her college experience.  She began her senior year the week after Labor Day.  She loves her roommates and continues to live off campus.  She was chosen to be an orientation leader this year and spent a lot of time helping her group of Freshman students acclimate to college life.  We look forward to flying out to visit her later this fall and then celebrate graduation in May!

Kid Pic

Absolutely love this shot of the kids after church one Sunday.  We are very blessed!

School Begins!

Although summer was great, the kids were ready to start school.  The start of school seems to sneak up earlier and earlier each year.  Troy was especially excited because their middle school is located on a brand new campus.  Everything is new!  After a few days of figuring things out.  The word is he loves it!  Sixth grade is awesome!  Kam is in 10th grade and is also enjoying school. She has all honors classes and decided to play volleyball this year.  This has been really fun with a great group of girls on varsity and a talented coach.  Katie got to join in on the first day fun before she flew back later that day. Looking forward to a great year of growth and learning!

Soccer Fans

Boppa and Grandma finally got to experience Troy's soccer first hand.  It was a nice tournament for them to watch.  We had fun cheering on the Pats and finding ways to stay cool.  Thanks for coming out!

Happy Birthday, Katie!

While Katie was home we got to celebrate her 21st birthday!  We took a little family trip to Palm Springs which was a nice get-a-way (although VERY hot!!).  We stayed in a nice hotel and took her out for her first (right?!) margarita.  Troy and Kam enjoyed toasting her with their sodas!  We pray continued blessings on Katie and know that the Lord has great plans for her!

Katie Returns

It's always fun to welcome Katie home from college.  This summer she had a job in the Admissions Office of her school.  She loves that and does a great job.  We missed her, but enjoyed having her home for her birthday and the beginning of school preparations. There is always a quick check to see if Kam has passed Katie in height.  This time I think she has her beat!

San Clemente 2015

A group of friends camps out at San Clemente each summer.  We are always excited to be asked to come join them for a day.  This year we actually went out two different days because it happened that our friends, The Klavers were out from Michigan and just so happened to have an adjoining campsite to the Redlands group.  It was so relaxing and beautiful out at the beach!  So fun to catch up with friends and spend time together as families.

The Wedding of Kyle and Bri

This July something crazy happened...Yes, our friend Kyle got married!!  But even crazier was the fact that we had a torrential rain storm in Southern California.  It was so unexpected that no one felt the need to make back up plans for this outdoor wedding.  With quick adjustments to almost everything that morning, the wedding went on.  Everyone attending just kind of went with the flow and didn't seem to mind getting a little wet.  The wedding was lots of fun and we enjoyed getting to see many old friends from Visalia.  Scott did a great job officiating and managed to stay dry.  To say the least, not many people will forget Kyle and Bri's wedding!

Fourth Festivities-2015

I was finally able to get some pictures saved to my blog.  I'll attempt a major summer update!  We had a blast hanging out at the U of R Stadium with our friends, The Barents.  Cindy is a pro at organizing such activities and we just totally benefited from her skills.  The kids played cards and ate.  The grown-ups people watched and talked.  There were sky divers and musicians.  I think this will be a tradition from now on.  Happy Fourth!
