Pateadores U12 2015-2016 Season

So this post is hard to put together.  The club soccer team that Troy has been a part of for the last 2 years is breaking up.  The club decided that they need to follow international rules for ages of players to line up with the years the players were born.  Troy had been playing "up" on the age level above his, as were a few other players.  So his team was broken into two teams.  We had always hesitated to jump on board with club soccer and the craziness it brought.  But this team made it easy.  Practice was near our house.  Other families were quick to help out with transportation when needed.  There wasn't too much travel involved.  It's hard to see this team dissolve as they were such sweet teammates, with great coaches.  The families got along well and the boys loved to play together.  Many nations were represented culturally, it was just fun.  Their seasons build up to the state cup tournament.  This tournament took place in mid February.  They boys made it through to the round of 16 teams left and a second weekend.  Unfortunately, they just didn't play to their ability and ended up losing, which ended their season.  It was kind of a bummer way to end as the boys weren't quite sure how to deal with everything.  One evening Troy was actually in tears.  It's been a fun run and the boys will have a great time together tomorrow at their team party.  Way to go Pateadores U12!  It's been a great run!

ACA Girls Varsity Basketball 2015-2016

I'll throw a bunch of miscellaneous basketball pics up for Kam's Sophomore season.  The team grew from last year and had a lot of fun together.  They won some nice games and always put up a good fight.  It's tough that some of the schools in our league are much bigger, so seem to have an advantage.  Kam was a starter again this season and was one of the high scorers for her team.  She gained confidence in her rebounding and also developed a nice three point shot that made things fun.  Great job, lady Eagles! Nice season, #22!

ACA Powder Puff Football Game 2016

I'll try to get some recent happenings up on the blog for January and February...Today we watched an exciting game of Powder Puff Football at Kam's high school.  She was the quarter back again this year.  Her team (the Sophomores and Seniors=Sen-mores) ended up winning a pretty tight game, 20-16.  There were some pretty touchdown passes from Kam to Sierra Jorritsma.  There were no major injuries this year, which we are thankful for.  ;-)  Great job, girls!
