San Diego

Scott and I were blessed to be able to get away to San Diego for a couple of days. Although the weather was chilly, we had a great time. We were able to see a movie, wander through shops, sit by the beach and just enjoy being together!

A little sketchy, but us at Seaport Village.
Scott has always wanted to tour this aircraft carrier. Too rainy and cold, maybe another time.
We had a blast checking out the Del Coronado.
Scott checking out the Pacific Ocean.
A beautiful, old hotel.

February Fun

Just looking through some of my recent pictures and decided to post some random ones that showed what we've been up to...
Katie has been helping out with the children's program at church. It's a big production that includes costumes and makeup each Sunday morning. Here she is with her friends, Sarah and Erin.
Katie and her team played their last soccer games of the season this past week. This home game was a blow-out. They won 10-0. They had a good season, but are not going on to playoffs.
These are some of the cuties I get to see at school in the library each week!
More cuties!
Kamryn has begun her softball season. It looks like they will have a good team. I'm not sure if we're cut out for the serious softball crowd, but we'll give it a try.
Kamryn and Eva enjoying a dip in the hot tub.
More hot tub fun.
Scott and some pastors from the River at a recent get-to-gether.

Little Get-A-Way

Now being a teacher and everything, I don't usually promote the idea of skipping school, but I can't think of a better place to find ourselves on a sunny Monday in January than DISNEYLAND! A large group of Elgersmas took full advantage of an empty park and went on lots of rides, met characters, blasted each other, ate food, and just enjoyed ourselves. We had a great day and even Scott had to admit it was pretty darn fun!

The whole group, minus Kendra who was home sick.
This Elgersma clan is full of take charge leaders-all studying the map before we begin!
How many people can we squeeze into a rocket?
No, Troy has not joined a cult. He is in Jedi training!
I love the tea cups!
Very cool Jedi training.

How many grandkids can we pile onto a car?
Katie got her driver's license...Oh, wait, it's not real! The princesses by the castle.
Gotta love Small World!

RIvalry

We joined other Redlands area supporters in watching the big Calvin-Hope rivalry basketball game via simulcast this year. It was fun coming together and cheering on our team. There was a lone Hope supporter in the group who was actually quite vocal during the game. As Calvin gave away their large lead it was harder to listen kindly to her cheering. Although the outcome wasn't to our liking, it was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday in January!
(And there's always next year...)

Troy, Brett and Kamryn showing some pride.
Katie and Alliyah taking a book break. Katie, Sarah, and Libby
Some more of the group.
