Daisy Chain-2016

Kam was part of a Redlands tradition called Daisy Chain.  It's where Sophomore girls help support the Senior girls during the school year.  They send notes of encouragement, put on a luncheon and help decorate for the graduation ceremony.  They walk in before the graduates with a chain of daisies.  Kam had fun being part of this with her friends, and admittedly, was pushed outside her usual comfort zone with the whole dressing up (including white gloves) thing.   I talked her into some pics in the front yard before the ceremony.  She looks beautiful!  Thanks for being a great sport, Kam! ;-)

Summer Soccer

Troy was asked to be a "guest player" on a team with some friends over Memorial Day Weekend.  He went in a little hesitant, but it ended up being a great weekend of strengthening bonds with new teammates and building his confidence.  Their team ended up making it to the semi-finals and losing in penalty kicks.  Troy contributed some nice goals, one tying up the semi-final game.  He made his PK, but a couple other teammates missed.  Obviously the boys who missed were devastated. I loved seeing Troy and a couple other boys run out to console their teammates.  Yes!  Again, fun times watching some great soccer!

Katie's Graduation!

What a wonderful celebration we had with Katie and her sweet friends at the end of May at Calvin College! Graduation weekend fell during some great weather and we got to enjoy the green scenery of this beautiful campus.  We attended a BBQ, art reception, parent breakfast, chapel, graduation and had many informal times of catching up with friends,  We are so proud of Katie and her accomplishments during the last four years! We love these people who Katie, I'm sure, will call friends for a lifetime. Calvin was a great place for her to learn and grow!  Congrats to the class of 2016!   Now on to real life!  ;-)
