Seussical!

Katie and her eighth grade classmates have spent the past several months preparing for the musical, "Seussical". They performed for a dinner theatre Thursday and Friday evenings at the school. It was a very fun evening. Their class seems to be quite dramatic and they had a blast working together on this!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter! Today was cold, but sunny. We enjoyed having family and friends over for dinner and an egg hunt (in the snow!). These are snapshots of the day. We hope you all had a great day celebrating Christ's resurrection!

Is It Really Easter?!

After enjoying some Spring weather recently we had a rude surprise today when it started snowing and just wouldn't quit. The late season snowfall is causing problems on the roads even for seasoned Michigan drivers. We tried to go out this evening, but had to turn around and go home.
I had Kamryn hold my new yard banner outside in the SNOW!

Kamryn and Troy enjoyed dying Easter eggs at home this evening.

March Madness

It's March and we're seeing signs of Spring! The snow is really melting and the neighborhood kids are again coming out to play. Katie is finishing up her eighth grade volleyball season at Ada Christian and is doing quite well for her first time playing. She also had her NHD (National History Day) display board chosen to go on to the regional competition at Grand Valley State University.

More Winter Fun!

We were given some free tickets to the Grand Rapids Griffens hockey game and decided to take in another winter experience. It was a fun family outing. The kids liked the hockey, but had more fun trying to grab free stuff they were throwing out.

Kamryn's second grade class is studying Alaska right now. They are following the iditarod and had their own race today with their 5th grade buddies being their dogs! It was very cute, but cold. Atleast it was a beautiful sunny day. Each second grader is assigned a real racer that we are following on the internet. Unfortunately Kam's first guy scratched. Her new racer is in 27th place today.

These are some shots of downtown GR on the way to the hockey game.

A Beautiful Saturday

Today was a beautiful day of sunshine! The temperature was only in the high 30's, but felt much warmer. Scott spent much of the day outside scraping ice off the driveway and soaking up the sun. We decided to take a drive out to Reed's Lake. The lake was frozen enough for people to be out on it. The kids enjoyed running around.
This is a frozen lake!

Standing out on Reed's Lake. Troy is blinded by the sun because he hasn't seen it in so long!
