Soccer Shots

We watched Troy and his Pats team tear up the soccer field the other morning.  They ended up winning 9-1.  The boys looked strong out there and are playing together nicely.  Looking forward to some fun tournaments this summer.

Holland Festival 2014

I didn't do the best job this year documenting the RCS Holland Festival.  I took these shots of the kids performing their band and class songs.  Kamryn did a great job on the clarinet in band.  (This will be her last year.)  Troy and friends did such a nice job playing their recorders and then singing.  (I love our music teachers!)  Troy passed his black belt in recorder, so he got to stand up and help direct the others. :)  He took his practice very seriously and apparently it paid off.  I regretfully did not get many other pictures of the festivities.  It's always a great day supporting our school and keeping a neat tradition going.

Play Ball!

This weekend we enjoyed some more ball games at our local community fields.  The kids continue to win most games and make it exciting to watch.  Unfortunately, the games are not always without drama as Kam's game got a little heated and Troy had a little injury in his game.  Scott had to end up taking him in for x-rays.  He came out with a good report and after a little break for the week, should be good to go...

Easter 2014

We had a wonderful Easter celebration!  We were so blessed by awesome church services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.  So appreciate the many people who put so much time into planning and taking part in these services.  We loved having our good friends from Visalia come and visit earlier this week.  Sadie and Kam painted some eggs.  On Sunday we enjoyed hosting some friends for dinner and an egg hunt.  Look at all these cuties...

Recent Family Pic

While the 5 of us our together, I insisted we take a family photo.  Nothing fancy, but nice to document. :)

Kamryn Plays Some Basketball

We traveled across a couple freeways to go watch Kamryn and the RCS Middle School Eagles play a basketball game.  It was fun for Katie to be able to cheer her on in person.  After an injury in the first minutes of the game, Kam fought through the pain to return to the game.  The Eagles had a nice lead with Kam getting some nice rebounds and baskets.  After subbing some other girls in to get some experience, our lead dwindled and the first string went back in.  Kam and friends finished strong with a nice win.  We look forward to good season!

Some Spring Sports

We've been enjoying watching the kids play sports.  This time I'll highlight Troy who's playing baseball for our city league on the Yankees and some soccer for his other team.  He loves both.  He's been playing shortstop and doing some pitching.  In soccer he runs the midfield and puts in some nice goals and assists.  We just love the friendships and encouragement Troy gives and gets from other players and coaches.  I'm so thankful for great coaches who mesh well with his personality.  We enjoy the friendships we continue to make with families who also love sports, too.  Makes for fun times spent outside on these beautiful spring days. :) P.S. Those lovely ladies in the last pictures are not soccer moms (their words, not mine!), they're Katie and her friends visiting us for their spring break!  Such fun!
