Happy Birthday, Katie!

We recently celebrated Katie turning nineteen whole years old!  She was relieved that our family would not be traveling this year as in recent years.  She chose to spend the day at the beach and then eat at a nice restaurant.  We had a relaxing day celebrating Katie!

Hollywood and Hot Dogs

We wanted to check out "Hollywood" also.  Ends up it isn't as big a deal as we thought.  Troy said, "We don't need to come here again."  It just seemed a little "yucky."  We checked out the famous stars and picked out some of our favorites.  We drove through Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive.  The fun part of the day was eating lunch at Pink's Hot Dogs.  This place was great!  (We didn't see anyone famous, though.:) The bummer part was sitting in traffic to get home. :(

Angels Game

We hadn't been to a major league baseball game yet this season, so that also made our "stay-cation" list.  We arrived early to catch batting practice.  Sadly, no one in our family caught a ball.  Great night cheering on one of our fav So. Cal teams!

Alpine Slides

While in Big Bear, we thought it would be fun to try the Alpine Slides.  I even conquered my fear of heights and tried it out.  It was a great ride!

Big Bear

This year for Scott's time off we decided to take a "stay-cation."  There is so much to see and do in Southern CA that we thought it would be nice to take advantage of activities close to us (and sleep in our own beds!).  We spent some time in Big Bear...

Cobi Gets A Haircut

Here are after and before pics of our dog, Cobi.  We decided it was time for a little haircut.  They ended up shaving her. She looked a little "out of sorts" for a few days, but it has to be cooler and it is less clean-up for me!

Summer Fun

We have a little regional park close to us that we have never really explored before.  There's a nice swimming lake with some water slides too.  We enjoyed a day out by the lake with some friends recently.
