Palos Heights

Yesterday we drove to Chicago and stayed the night in a hotel. This morning Scott was "commissioned" at Palos Heights CRC in Chicago where he'll be interning this summer. We had to laugh when we drove up to the church and read the sign. We had a great time at the church. The people are very welcoming and appreciative of us coming there. It makes us excited for what's ahead.

Birthday Celebration-Part 2

Troy woke up early on Saturday morning to open some presents on his 4th birthday. We met the local Grandparents for lunch and continued to celebrate. We all went to Kamryn's soccer game and then headed out to Chicago.

Birthday Celebration-Part 1

We took Troy out tonight for the first part of his Birthday celebration. (He turns 4 tomorrow.) Our family went to an "Adventure Park" type place with go carts, mini-golf, arcade, etc. Troy loved it and so did the rest of us, except Scott who kept getting ripped off in the arcade, but we won't go into that! Happy Birthday, Troy!

Troy's first hole in one!
Sorry! The sky is really not white here (all of the time). I'll figure out my camera some day.

Officially Done!

Scott has completed his first year of Seminary! He took his last exam today. (Unfortunately the rest of us have four more weeks of school!)... We have had a good year of adjusting and learning. We have continued to see God's hand in our lives and how he has stretched us in many ways. Please continue to pray for us as we continue the journey in the Chicago area this summer.

Out to the Lake

We have been involved in a couple's Bible study group over the past few months with three other couples from our church. One couple invited everyone over to their cottage on Lake Macatawa for our last time together before we leave for Chicago. It was a wonderful evening out by the lake. Some of the highlights were a boat ride, a walk out on the pier, a BBQ, fishing, and just having fun together!

A Good Day of Soccer

It was a great day of soccer! Katie's coach was gone, so Scott volunteered to coach. The team they were supposed to play didn't show, so they ended up scrimmaging an under 14 boys team. They actually played really well, but lost 6-3. Katie and her friend Megan scored 3 goals together. Scott enjoyed coaching again too.

Weekend Activities

It's Tulip Time around here. There are beautiful flowers everywhere. These are some of them that we saw at Meijer Gardens today. We were there to celebrate mom's birthday. It was a nice, sunny day and we had a great time!

This past Friday was Grandparent's Day at school. The kids were fortunate enough to have two sets of Grandparents there this year. Katie is getting ready to perform with her choir.
In Kamryn's class they recited poetry for the Grandparents.
We are in the midst of Spring soccer here. So far the game days have been pretty chilly. Kam has been the high scorer for her team, but remains very gracious and is good at passing to others to give them a chance to score too. Katie's team has to travel quite a bit because there aren't many AYSO under 14 teams. She's enjoying playing with some friends and meeting new girls.
We also squeezed in some time at a "Paint Me Pottery" shop nearby on Saturday afternoon. It was a busy weekend!
